Program of Studies Requirements

Program Entrance Requirements

There are no educational requirements to become a Registered Student. However, in order to obtain the CBV designation, an individual must have a degree from a post-secondary academic institution or university. This requirement will be waived for an individual who holds a Canadian designation of Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Mandatory Courses

The mandatory courses in the CICBV Program of Studies build on the knowledge of previous mandatory courses. It is recomended that students complete the mandatory courses in sequential order.

Recommended Sequence

Level I – Introductory Business Valuation

It would also be very beneficial to have a background in financial accounting and reporting and taxation obtained through university level courses or other professional designations.
