July 4, 2019

It was such a great honour for CBV Institute to host our 47th annual National Business Valuation Congress. Two days, five streams of stimulating topics, 44 speakers and 422 participants engaging in robust presentations, discussions, and networking in the beautiful city of Montreal.

Attendees from across Canada and around the world were offered over 20 technical sessions in BV, Deals, Litigation, Hot Topics, and Practice Issues. The agenda included inspiring speaker presentations and challenging panel discussions, with several emerging topics from today’s business climate – such as AI, valuing cannabis and cryptoassets. Keynote presentations highlighted the evolving dynamics around us which are impacting valuation space: millennials in the workplace (David Coletto) and global economic trends and risk (Glen Hodgson).

We were pleased to welcome several valued strategic partners. Delegates were in attendance from CPA Canada, the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and BVResources.

Once again, in lieu of speaker gifts, CBV Institute made a charitable donation to a local non-profit whose values align with those of our CBV community. Montreal’s Centre Philou was selected as the Congress charity for 2019. Centre Philou provides continuous support and development services to children with multiple disabilities and their families. We encourage you to learn more about their charitable works by visiting their website.

Thanks to all 2019 participants, speakers, colleagues, and honoured guests. See you next year!
